A description of annual fees to recover property taxes on your equipment, states that collect it and dates it's assessed.
You may have noticed a once-a-year added fee on your invoice for Viasat service. The “Annual Property Tax Recovery Fee” is charged one time each year, and is listed under the “Taxes, Surcharges and Fees” section of your invoice.
The annual one-time charge is a fee to cover the associated costs of our company paying for property taxes on the leased equipment installed at your home (modem, TRIA, dish).
The Property Tax Recovery Fee varies from county to county and state to state, and is based on the county in which you have service. It’s also based in part on the cost and age of the equipment.
The month in which the fee appears on your bill may also vary, depending on the state.
The charge isn’t refundable and can’t be prorated if you ever decide to disconnect your Viasat service.
